Veterinarian
Smithfield Animal Hospital is looking to add an enthusiastic veterinarian to our team. We are looking for compassionate doctors of all experience levels from new grad to seasoned vet. Our professional team will ensure you are successful, and there are mentorship opportunities available for new graduates still looking to gain confidence. We have part-time and full-time positions available.
Our recently updated facility enables you to provide the best quality care to your patients with digital radiology, brand new ultrasound machine, dental x ray and dental machine, therapeutic laser, a full set of in-house IDEXX laboratory equipment and a fully outfitted surgical suite. There are no overnight or holiday shifts or on-call hours as we have a great relationship with the local 24 hour care facilities. This means you are free to accept those challenging and interesting cases, but we also have excellent places to refer. Our primary concern is making sure our staff have a healthy work/life balance and excellent opportunities to hone their skills.
We are a primarily small animal facility situated in East Stroudsburg, in the Poconos region of Pennsylvania. Beautiful mountain views, numerous ski resorts, and an abundance of outdoor activities are just a few minutes away. The Delaware National Recreation Reserve and the Appalachian Trail provide the perfect backdrop for hiking and exploring the great outdoors, and the Delaware River is ideal for fishing, boating, and kayaking. The East Stroudsburg University Art Series offers live music, plays, and productions on a local, national, and international level. If you crave the big city lights, NYC is only a ninety-minute drive.

Veterinary Technician
Smithfield Animal Hospital is looking to add an enthusiastic technician/assistant to our team. We are looking for candidates of all experience levels who can take initiative and work well as a part of a team. Primary Responsibilities include working with the veterinarian to provide excellent animal care (animal restraint, lab work, interacting with clients, cleaning, etc), but all employees are cross trained to cover reception as needed. Experience is encouraged, but we are willing to train the right candidate if they are reliable and show a strong commitment to learning.
